The park owes its name to the many springs that feed its pond. A former estate of the Solvay family, the park was laid out in the English style at the beginning of the 20th century. It is home to a small castle, hidden from view in the abundant green flora of the site. The castle served as a residence for the Solvay family. After Louis Solvay’s death, the park was partly taken over by the Blaton family with a view to turning it into a real-estate development. The project never materialised. The municipality of Woluwe-Saint-Lambert acquired the other part and transformed it into a public park. It is a real ecological hub with reed beds, ponds, streams, wet and dry woodlands. The entire park has been classified as a nature reserve since 1994.
