Chercq, formerly an agricultural village characterized by the presence of quarries, has managed to maintain its idyllic character. The Sottises mill, the lime kilns, the quarries, the charterhouse, and its farm stamp their mark on the landscape and remind of the activities in the fields and in the quarries. On your route, you take an old Roman road and see the cross of Morlighem, whose origin dates back to 1414. Stop occasionally along the way and admire the landscape with an unexpected view of the city of Tournai and its cathedral.
