Behind the starting point of this route is the water castle Kruikenburg, a protected monument but freely accessible. From Ternat, follow the slopes to the world-famous folk café 'In de Verzekering tegen de Grote Dorst' in Eizeringen. Then cycle past the Zepposmolen and café Den Haas to the bank of the Dender to come face to face with Roosdaal's most famous figure, the Dikke van Pamel. The Dender plays with the border of East Flanders here, to guide you further to Affligem, where the cycling track and Essene village square are worth a snapshot.
This route passes through the municipalities of Ternat, Lennik, Roosdaal, Liedekerke and Affligem.
