Three-country climbing route

This route runs through three countries, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, through one of the most beautiful parts of the Ardennes (in Germany the Mittelgebirge is called the Eifel). The hills are high, the landscape is utterly green and there are only few and small villages. In my opinion, the Our valley between Stoubach and roughly the three-country point south of Ouren is the highlight. The river here is wonderful. Most roads are pleasantly quiet and narrow. Part of the outward ride (if you start in the north) goes up and down through the Our valley, though without any significant climbs. This is different for much of the rest of the tour, which includes 1880 elevation meters, spread over a distance of 85 kilometers. The toughest climb is the climb to the village of Lieler from the Our valley, with an index of 177 climb effort points. At three locations in the Our valley the outward and return ride briefly coincide. So be careful here to continue cycling in the right direction (the circuit goes counterclockwise). Thanks to the shape of the route, it is quite easy to shorten the route if you like.

Along the way the following slopes will be climbed: Maspelt-north, Thömmerberg, Ourberg-northeast, Hiereberg, Lieler-southeast, Dahnen, Alertzberg, Steinkopf-northwest and Etteberg-southeast.
