This is a beautiful forest walk that largely stays on Tervuren soil but leads to the Red Monastery in Oudergem. It is a 24 km walk during which you never leave the Sonian Forest. We start at the sources of the Voer, the local stream that flows into the Dijle, then we walk through the Arboretum of Tervuren and head towards the Red Monastery (after about 15 km), an old Augustinian priory in the middle of the Sonian Forest. Around this monastery, there is space for a cozy picnic. Then we take a slightly shorter route back to our starting point. You can park the car at the sports center, at the Red Monastery, or in the parking lot of the Arboretum (Vlaktedreef Tervuren).
