The ambition of the Saeftinghe Border Park is to become a cross-border national park. In this piece of Belgium behind the Waaslandhaven, it is always windy. Prosperpolder is one of those villages that you only visit as a walker, cyclist, or film crew. Close by is the hamlet of Ouden Doel, where PolderMAS showcases the region's heritage every Sunday afternoon. The lively Beyond Borders cycling route covers it all.

The center of Belgian Kieldrecht forms a whole with Dutch Nieuw-Namen. Yet, once you cross the border, you enter a different world, with kilometers of avenues leading to Emmadorp and the dyke around the drowned land of Saeftinghe. Beneath the silt in this mudflat and salt marsh area lie the foundations of medieval churches and houses.
