Lake Nisramont and the confluence of the 2 ourthes

An impressive place, because of the dam itself, but also because of the beauty of the surroundings and the lake. An absolute must! Warning: swimming prohibited.

The dam is impressive, with its 116 m in length and 16 m in height. At night, the entire site is subtly illuminated, giving the impression that you have found yourself in a fairy tale. The dam was built to provide drinking water to the area. The 47 ha lake itself contains 3 million m3 of water, and is fed from the east and west of the Ourthe, which meet in the lake.
Technically, the site has a hydroelectric plant, a wastewater treatment plant and an audiovisual room on site.
If you like brisk walking, you can put the 14 km trip around the lake, a difficult walk (+/- 4 hours with many valleys and climbs).
