The Stadtwald is a landscape park and cultivated forest area in the middle of the city of Krefeld. It is located in the district of Bockum and covers an area of 120 ha.
In the Krefeld city forest there is a very large meadow with football goals, a children's playground, a large, branched pond with pedal boat rental and walking paths. The park grounds also include the Krefeld racecourse, one of the most beautiful German racecourses, a golf course, a hockey court and tennis courts. The Stadtwaldhaus, with one of the largest beer gardens outside of Bavaria, offers outdoor space for about 3,000 excursionists. In 2004/2005, the landscape park was included as an outstanding park in the Straße der Gartenkunst between the Rhine and the Meuse.
