The United Glückauf mine was a non-ferrous metal ore mine in the Bensberg mining district in Rösrath, in the Forsbach district. The Vereinigtes Glückauf mining area was located in the Königsforst, about 500 meters southwest of the former Forsbach train station on the eastern slope of the Giesbach.
Originally, there were two different mining areas, each granted for two parallel ore veins. For the Glückauf I mining area, Joh. Wagner from Mülheim am Rhein submitted a claim on August 5, 1877. During the field inspection on August 24, 1877, it was determined that the area was worthy of construction. Accordingly, on October 15, 1877, the grant for lead, zinc, and copper ore was issued. For the adjacent Glückauf mining area, a claim had already been submitted earlier by Wilhelm Volbach from Rath near Cologne. The field inspection took place on April 13, 1877. During the final hearing on August 7, 1877, the grant for the Glückauf mine for lead and zinc ore was issued. There are no indications for either mine that extraction took place subsequently.
