Dömitz Station

The Dömitz railway station was the station of the town of the same name, Dömitz, in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It was served by passenger traffic until 2000. The facility, with a reception building, freight handling building, two sheds, and a warehouse with a hand crane, is listed as a historic monument in the district.
The station was created with the construction of the Wittenberge–Buchholz railway line, which crossed the Elbe at Dömitz, necessitating the construction of a corresponding bridge structure by 1873. The section from Wittenberge to Dömitz was opened on December 15, 1873. In 1874, passenger traffic was able to commence over the Elbe bridge. The section from Dömitz to Malliß on the line to Ludwigslust was handed over on December 29, 1889.
