In the center of the Kerner district of Stetten, not far from St. Veit Church and St. Pierre Square, stands the old town hall.
The construction of the building has been dated to the year 1520 based on a dendrochronological assessment. It was built in the Alemannic half-timbered style. Numerous artifacts from the period around 1550 to 1900 were discovered in the building. It is mentioned as a town hall in 1698 and 1707. Before the 19th century, the ground floor was open and was used for merchants' stalls. Subsequently, the floor was bricked up. It was then used for the local fire department and for the public scale. In 1923, the building was completely plastered, including the half-timbering. From 1993 to 1995, a renovation took place. In this process, the half-timbering was uncovered again in 1995.
