Fantasy story about the Three-Linden-Hill

“I am sitting on a bench at the ‘Three-Linden-Hill’ and looking around.

The wall made of rubble stones reminds me of a defensive wall or a fortress. It protects the castle, which stands in the center of the circle and is accessible through two side entrances. The wall has 3 arrow slits from which the knights can defend their castle. The three lindens form the towers from which the guards look down on the town to spot incoming enemies who wish to conquer the castle.

Inside the castle, there is a vault that contains a small, beautifully gilded box, which lies in a securely locked chest adorned with diamonds and gemstones. The small box is very valuable as it holds three seed kernels. They are kept to plant new trees in case lightning or storms should destroy the three lindens.

The lindens are unique in the whole world as they harbor a special secret. Their leaves sing every day the song of the ‘Three-Linden-Hill’. The song tells of how the trees grew on Coesfelder Mountain and what they experienced over the many years until they became as tall and magnificent as they are today.

The castle inhabitants and the visitors of the ‘Three-Linden-Hill’ can hear this mysterious and beautiful song in the evening breeze.”
