Besinnungsweg Bittenfeld

The Bittenfeld contemplation trail is a cultural, historical and spiritual circular route through the countryside between Bittenfeld and Siegelhausen. It combines local and church history, nature and spirituality.

The themes of the 12 places of reflection are colorful and diverse and encourage reflection. Many ideas from pupils on specific reflection themes such as freedom, boundaries, space and time have been realized.The contemplation trail leads us past historic buildings and places, such as the Ulrichskirche church and the old cemetery, and on through orchards and woodland to Siegelhausen. This is where people made their pilgrimage when there was no church in Bittenfeld, the so-called "Urkirche". The fountain in Siegelhausen is a reminder of a spring sanctuary that once stood at the foot of the Lemberg. We also see the Bittenfeld apple along the way. This robust and popular cider apple variety comes from Bittenfeld and is reminiscent of Schiller's father, who shaped fruit growing in Württemberg and whose birthplace is in Bittenfeld.
