Tour of Denklingen

Start and finish of the tour is at the old water castle in Denklingen. The route runs slightly uphill along the old "Brüderstraße". Views that invite you to linger round off this approximately 23 km long and moderately challenging bike tour with 450 meters of altitude.

You start by passing through the old gate, which in earlier times also housed the two prison cells, and cross the main street. We turn left after 50 m, before turning right directly into Poststraße. Slightly ascending, we are now on the old "Brüderstraße". The "Brüderstraße" was probably a trade route in earlier times, to which Denklingen Castle owes its foundation.

We follow the "Brüderstraße" to Sterzenbach and tackle a gradient of around 8%, the hamlet of Heseln remains on the left, we reach Schalenbach, and now it goes downhill. We continue past the dam and the Auchel waterworks. After a straight stretch of about 1 km, we reach the village of Brüchermühle, where we turn left, then right after about 200 m, towards the hamlets of Eueln, Fürken, and Heischeid.

Back on the route, the circuit now runs downhill towards Eichholz. We leave Sotterbach, Feld, and Heienbach behind before you can look down from a height over the Biebersteiner reservoir. Downhill to Remperg and Bieberstein, then back uphill over Perke, Mühlenau, Auf der Hardt, Rölefeld, and Eiershagen, the "Landesgolddorf" in the competition "Our village should become more beautiful". Here, romantic half-timbered houses invite you to linger. After about 1.5 km, we have reached Denklingen, our state-approved recreational resort, our starting and finishing point.
