From the hiking car park, a short access path leads directly to the hiking trail over the ridge of the "Kleiner Freeden". In April, the blossom of the hollow larkspur transforms the forest floor of the ridge into a true sea of flowers. But even before or after the Freeden blossom, a hike through the forest area in Freeden is worthwhile. From the wave lounger at the forest edge south of the "Großer Freeden", there is a beautiful view all the way to the "Kleiner Berg" towards Bad Laer.
