This hiking trail runs almost exclusively on solid, easily walkable paths through the forest and in large parts also on the "Ahornweg" long-distance trail. The path leads over the Limberg to the "Zeppelinstein", where on June 28, 1910, the airship "Deutschland" landed in the trees. Originally, the airship had started its maiden voyage in Düsseldorf, which was planned to pass over the Rhine-Main area. However, a bad weather report led to a change of course towards the Teutoburg Forest, where the Zeppelin still ended up stranded in the treetops despite heavy rain, hail, and snow - in June! Fortunately, only one passenger was injured. The "Zeppelinstein" monument commemorates this event.
