Last update: 11-Aug-2019: The economic path around Lützkampen seems to be unpaved. This was removed from the route. As a result, the distance has increased by 1 km.

The route starts at the church in Lommersweiler and proceeds clockwise. The route mainly follows and crosses the river valleys of Irsen (Germany) and Our (in Belgium, Germany, and Luxembourg). The ascents in this part of the Eifel/Ösling are somewhat steeper than elsewhere, and there are also two climbs that are exceptionally steep (the Ourberg and the ascent between Bracht and Maspelt). The roads in this area are generally of good quality and quiet to very quiet in terms of traffic.

You first descend to Steinebrück and then cross the border into Germany; there is an ascent to Elcherath, and the descent leads you back to Belgium.
The route now follows the valley of the Our to Stoubach (where the route intersects with the route going there about 100 m on the return). You cross the Our and come back to Germany. Then follows the climb to the Alertzberg. After the ascent, there is no descent; instead, you remain on a plateau. Only at the village of Harspelt do you descend into the valley of the Irsen river, to the Harspeltermühle, and then descend from this river gully. After a few kilometers, you descend again into the valley of the Irsen, and you rise again to the hamlet of Haustrich. You pass through the village of Daleiden, where even the route can be shortened to 69 km.

Then it goes 8 km down, surprisingly, to the valley of the Irsen. The Irsen is followed downstream on this route, which means that the elevation changes along this valley continue to increase. This is evident in the subsequent climb, which rises over 3.6 km and 185 meters in altitude from the valley of the Irsen to the village of Preischeid. The route then initially stays on the plateau before descending into the valley of the Our and then climbing from there to Heinerscheid on the Luxembourg side. However, you do not cycle all the way to the town of Heinerscheid but turn right onto an internal road before the summit, which takes you through a tributary of the Our (thus descending and then climbing). Finally, a descent over excellent road surface and steep (10%) into the valley of the Our awaits you.

The route passes the European Monument and dives back into Belgium. The route now follows the Our upstream over a distance of about 6 kilometers. Until you leave the valley at Stoubach and cycle over the steep Ourberg to Weweler and Burg-Reuland. Now there is an ascent to Bracht and then to Maspelt (which is very steep for a while), a descent, and a final ascent to Lommersweiler.
