Es Born Square is the main square of the city and an old parade ground. In it, we find buildings such as; the City Hall, the ancient royal alcázar, built on a Muslim castle; the 22-meter tall Obelisk located in the center of the square was constructed in the mid-19th century in commemoration of the Turkish assault of 1558; the viewpoint, located on top of the 17th-century walls from where the port can be seen; the Born theater built in 1873; the Torresaura Palace and the Salort Palace from the early 18th century; and the Church of Sant Francesc.
