Palazzo Tuscanylli - Pisa

The palace was built by the Lanfranchi family at the beginning of the 16th century and acquired its current appearance at the end of the century after renovations: ash plastering, aedicula and knee-panel windows. The Tuscanylli name was coined in 1827 when the palazzo was bought by the family of the same name. Inside, the ceilings feature frescoes by Nicola Cianfanelli, Gaspero Martellini and Annibale Gatti depicting scenes depicting Byron and poetry, Galileo's The Apotheosis and Michelangelo's The Apotheosis (to whom the building's design is said to have been attributed).
