Wijlre Castle

Kasteel Wijlre is located on the river Geul in the village of the same name, which is part of the Dutch Limburg municipality of Gulpen-Wittem. To the northwest of the castle lies the hamlet of Stokhem and to the southwest the hamlet of Beertsenhoven with the Beertsengrub.The Elisabeth Strouven Fund is the owner of the Kasteel Wijlre estate. The fund takes care of the maintenance of the estate. Stichting Kasteel Wijlre Estate is responsible for the operation, the cultural programming in the Coach House and the Hedge House, and the maintenance of the garden. The estate is open to the public at set times. Please consult the website kasteelwijlre.nl for the current opening hours. The castle itself is inhabited and is not open to the public.
