Anholt Marsh

The Anholtse Broek, also known as the Breedenbroek forest, is a Dutch estate located in the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek, situated between Breedenbroek, Voorst, and the border with Germany.

Originally, the area around Breedenbroek was an inaccessible wetland landscape that had been reclaimed since the Middle Ages. In the late Middle Ages, the "broad wetland" was divided into a large northern part and a small southern part, with Anholt acquiring the southern part, Klein-Breedenbroek."
The stream Snijders Veerbeek and the Beggelderpad run through the area. At the edge of the Breedenbroek forest, a scouting association and a football club have their home base. The land for these associations was made available by the prince of Salm zu Salm, residing at Anholt Castle, who also owns a large part of the estate.
