Ullingse Mountains

Round hike through the Ullingse Mountains with forests and heathlands.
The hike starts at the parking lot at Bosweg 40 in Sint Anthonis.
From the very beginning, the path leads over a hiking trail through beautiful, open forest areas. A little further on, the path crosses a ridge with beautiful views over fields and meadows. It continues through a lovely and very large heathland area. With a bit of luck, you might see various birds of prey such as a red kite, a common buzzard, or a kestrel. At the edges of the forests, you can also spot different songbirds like the crowned tit, the robin, the treecreeper, the redstart, and so on. In the woodland areas, you can encounter the great spotted woodpecker as well as a black woodpecker.
Later, the path runs along meadows to the next woodland area, where the very large heathland area is again located. Magnificently beautiful, where you can look across the heath for kilometers. Especially in August, when the heath is in bloom, this is a fantastic sight.
Continuing along the edge of the forest, the route goes through the woodlands for a while longer and then back to the starting point.
Here, you will also find the restaurant De Heksenboom, where you can enjoy a snack and a drink.

It is recommended to bring binoculars if you want to observe the birds closely.
