Monument to the deminers - Grupont

On the Rue Maréchal Foch is this monument in honor of the deminers in the Second World War.

This monument was inaugurated on September 7 , 1947, as a tribute to the Belgian deminers and the heavy toll they paid during their demining operations at the end of the war.

The image shows a deminer at work between some mines. The whole is demarcated with garnets that are connected with a chain.

Among them are 12 names stating their rank in the military next to the place and date of death.
