You depart from the Place de Rance (the village square), which features the museum about the history of marble and the exploitation of the red marble from Rance. The route takes you past some of the most emblematic places in the village. You will pass through forests, by water, and along ponds at the edge of the woods. The route leads you to the old quarries where the famous Rance marble was extracted: the quarry "Carrière à Roc," the La Marzelle quarry, and the Fosset quarry. The house of a former marble worker next to the "Carrière à Roc" dates back to 1910 and is made of the red marble from Rance, characterized by its distinctive gray veins and white and bluish spots.
