Let yourself be surprised while walking by a lesser-known piece of history regarding the origin and development of Ghent. Once the city has disappeared, you will encounter untouched nature via an old poacher's path and the many peat bogs that indicate the old meandering course of the Scheldt. After the castle of the witch municipality of Laarne, you walk through the fields, often of flower growers or tree nurserymen, until you reach Wetteren. Perhaps you will discover here the lost panel of the famous Ghent Altarpiece?
