De Pinte - Zwalm - Merelbeke - De Pinte

Bicycle route that starts and ends in De Pinte. Along quiet Flemish streets. The route begins and ends in the center of De Pinte. At the starting point on the church square, there is a large free parking lot that is usually available. We then ride along the railway on the new bike path to Gavere. In Gavere, we take the Scheldt and follow it to Zingem. When we turn off the Scheldt and cross the bridge, we quickly cross the busy road and reach the quiet streets of the Zwalm region. Now it goes steadily up and down. We warm up for the only major challenge on this beautiful route. Namely, the Molenberg. After the Molenberg, it’s downhill. We leave the Zwalm region and head towards Merelbeke. From Merelbeke, the roads get a bit busier. Fortunately, there is a good bike path in most places. We quickly ride over Zwijnaarde, and then head back to De Pinte. Within the last kilometers, there is a nice and cozy café "Het Schaap," where we can quickly refuel before we cover the last 500 meters to the church square.
