The Domschule Schleswig is a high school with a classical language branch in Schleswig. It was first documented in 1307, making it the oldest school in Schleswig-Holstein, one of the oldest schools in Northern Europe, and one of the oldest schools in the entire German-speaking area.
The history of the Schleswig Domschule is closely linked to that of the Schleswig Cathedral. Construction of the first cathedral began after the founding of the Diocese of Schleswig by Emperor Otto I in 947. The foundation stone for the current St. Petri Cathedral was laid in 1134.
