At 1,830 metres, the Mintarder Ruhr Valley Bridge is the longest steel road bridge in Germany. It is located in the eponymous Mülheim district of Mintard and runs as part of the A 52 motorway in an east-west direction.
Until 31 December 1974, a section of the bridge south of the Ruhr lay in the area of the then independent town of Kettwig. As part of a municipal restructuring, in which Kettwig became part of the city of Essen, Mintard was separated from Kettwig and annexed to Mülheim an der Ruhr, so that the bridge has since been completely in the area of the city of Mülheim an der Ruhr.
