Bunker Luckenwalde Salzgitter

The Bunker Luckenwalde Salzgitter is an air raid shelter built in 1944, located in Luckenwalde next to the Friedrich-Ebert-Schule.

The unusual construction of the types Salzgitter I with spans of 3.23 m and Salzgitter II with 4.00 m was typically built within the framework of the Geilenberg program in low-iron construction and with ceiling thicknesses of 2.50 m. The reason for this is that the mineral oil construction company, previously located at Belle-Alliance-Straße 7–10 in Berlin-Kreuzberg, was moved to the school next door. This construction team was involved, among other things, in underground relocations of refinery plants as part of the Geilenberg program.
