Pretty, short hike near the Arneburg ferry through the densely overgrown, wild slope forest of the Arneburg slope and back along the diverse Elbe meadows.

Description

The hike starts at the parking lot of the former ferry house near the Arneburg ferry. The nature trail leads through the wild landscape of the steeply sloping Arneburg slope: towering hornbeams, field elms, black locusts, and sessile oaks are accompanied by elderberry, hawthorn, and hazelnut bushes. In between, virgins bower, hops, and corydalis thrive. The narrow path winds up and down through the Arneburg slope. There are repeated views of the Elbe and the remnants of its old arms. The return journey follows a pretty meadow path parallel to the Elbe. Old willows stand on both sides. It is only 300 meters from the Arneburg ferry to the starting point.

The town of Arneburg is located on the Elbe River and offers guests interesting animal observations of storks, ospreys, ducks, geese, and beavers, as well as rare plants and birds during a walk on the nature trail.
