From the salt boiling town to the Hanseatic city of LemgoStarting point for hikers is the VitaSol Therme in the salt boiling town of Bad Salzuflen. Day hikers returning to Bad Salzuflen after the second stage will find plenty of parking spaces and the Flachsheide motorhome parking lot near the VitaSol Therme.

The first meters of the Hansa Trail lead through the green Salzetal on a flat stretch. To the right and left of the path, a hilly landscape begins to rise gently. On a loop, we circle the 117 m high Knickberg. To the right stands the memorial stone "Stumpfer Turm", the tower, and below lies an idyllic forest lake.

What were the towers used for in the past? The Stumpfer Turm was used in the past to spot friends and foes. Fire signals were also sent from the tower platform using open fire.
Parallel to the "Alte Vlothoer Straße", we walk a short distance towards Bad Salzuflen before taking the next left turn. Along the Heuweg, we reach the Hühnerwiem after about a kilometer. This viewpoint offers hikers a fantastic view of the village of Wüsten and the hinterland. At the Vierenberg behind us (255 m), two more memorial stones can be found, the Hasenkanzel and the Fuchstanz.

Pause at the Bismarck TowerA narrow, partly gnarled hiking trail takes us to a ridge. If you look to the left, you can see an area of renaturation and the valley spread out in front of us with a fantastic panoramic view over the undulating landscape of the Lipper Berge. Another resting place awaits hikers below the 18-meter-high Bismarck Tower. The tower was inaugurated in 1900. After renovation, the Bismarck Tower was reopened in January 2005.

Those who wish to climb the tower can get the key at the Bergrestaurant Hollenstein. The Hansa Trail continues in that direction.

After passing the small hamlet of Hollenstein, the Roman Road turns right. We follow it and enjoy the views to our right and left.

Dreamlike photo opportunity in BergkirchenThe half-timbered church in the village of Bergkirchen is nestled in a forest setting and stands out excellently from the green of the forest with its white walls.
On the following stage, we leave the Hünderser Berg with 238 meters of altitude on the right, as well as the Mönkeberg with 224 m, and continue straight ahead.

Quietly hiking, the last stage of the day offers relaxing views of meadows, fields, and forests until Entrup. Attentive hikers may see wild birds circling in the sky, a deer at the edge of the forest, or a fox darting across the path.

Worthwhile detour to LemgoIn Entrup, the next, the third stage begins for long-distance hikers on the Hansa Trail. For an overnight stay and to get to know the historic city center of Lemgo, it is worth hiking the last kilometers there.

In addition to the colorful, bustling life in the bike-friendly designed city center, attractions such as the extraordinary Junkerhaus, the St. Nicolai Church with its two different church towers, or the Hexenbürgermeisterhaus await visitors. But also other enchanting facades of Weser Renaissance-style houses await the guest.
