Nature Park Trail Weser Heights Trail 2: From Blankenau to Bad Karlshafen

Embark on an interesting "time travel" through nature, culture, and history on the Weserhöhenweg in this unique landscape of the Upper Weser. The total 48-kilometer long route leads from the culturally significant and UNESCO World Heritage-listed Corvey Abbey to the bizarre Hannoversche Klippen. Along the way, there are picturesque views of the Weser Valley and the adjacent mountain peaks. Rocks often emerge from the slopes. One of the many picturesque landmarks is the Weser-Skywalk with a breathtaking view over the river valley. The limestone beech forests in the Upper Weser area are unique in their expression. The typical forest communities appear in a very species-rich variant. The close integration with warm-favored biotope types also provides a habitat for a variety of endangered animal and plant species. Remarkable are the populations of the rare service tree as well as the original occurrences of the yew tree.
