This route follows the entire road that the riders would have had to take if the weather conditions had not prevented it. The mighty climb to the ski resort of Val Thorens (out of category) with a length of no less than 37 (!) Kilometers is one of the most beautiful in France due to its location in the De La Vanoise National Park. Furthermore, the ride includes a climb to the Cöte de Longefoy (2nd category) and a climb to the Cormet de Roselend (1st category), making this a very challenging route that is certainly worth doing once.
