The Drongengoedhoeve in Knesselare is the central hub of the largest forest area in East Flanders. The walking network Meetjeslandse Bossen explores the region down to its smallest corners. One of the many surprises here is the Maldegemveld, an area transformed into heathland by Natuurpunt where horses keep the grass short. At the edge of the Drongengoedbos, you arrive at the airport of Ursel, which played an important role in aerial battles during World War II.
