Description

The bike tour leads from Leps in a south-western arc through the forest landscape near the Elbe and back to Leps via field paths.

Leps - Kermen - Steutz - Steckby - Tochheim - Kämeritz - Hohenlepte - Eichholz - Leps

Highlights: Cyclists church in Steckby, wildlife enclosure in Steckby, beautiful ride through the forest, ruins of the entrance gate to the former Frederikenberg Castle, fieldstone church in Eichholz

Directions

From Leps, head south on the main road towards Kermen. In the village, turn left onto an agricultural path that leads to Steutz. In Steutz, turn left onto the main road and follow the Elberadweg directly into the village. At the main village intersection, turn right towards the Aken ferry. Leave the village and drive a stretch on the B187a. Then turn right onto a track path and ride across the Elbe meadows to the next village, Steckby. Here, you can see the cyclists church and visit it. Continuing on the Elberadweg, pass by a private wildlife enclosure into the forest. There is also a lovely resting place here. Follow the Elberadweg past the remains of the entrance gate of the former Frederikenberg Castle to Tochheim. There are two more resting places here. Then turn right and leave the Elberadweg. Take the small road to the right towards Kämeritz, as the Elberadweg turns left at this junction. This path is also paved with track plates but a bit bumpy. Ride to Kämeritz and pass by the village pond. Turn right onto the village street and follow it to Hohenlepte. At the village intersection, turn right and ride to the church. Then, at the intersection with the state road, turn briefly left and immediately right onto the paved agricultural road. This leads to Eichholz. Here, you can visit the church or the milk filling station. Follow the village street back to Leps and return to the starting point.
