Charleville-Mézières

Charleville-Mézières is linked, according to some hypotheses, to the Brabant Killers. Brothers Thierry and Xavier Sliman were extremely violent gangsters from Charleville-Mézières, who, among other things, committed a series of armed robberies in the 1970s and 1980s. Investigators linked them to several raids by the Gang, partly because bags that only circulated in France were used in the first robbery of a Belgian arms dealership (Dekaise, Wavre). There was a strong resemblance to robot photos in the case, and Sliman was once arrested in Belgium at a gun fair but was allowed to possess them.

The French gendarmerie had already linked the brothers to a robbery in the northern French town of Maubeuge, which was also allegedly the work of the gang. There are further clues. The gang operated from 1982 to 1985, but in 1984 they didn't commit any robberies. Remarkably, both brothers were in prison at the time.
