This building, built around a courtyard, was constructed between the 13th and 20th centuries ; it was named after the Louvre in Paris , a place of power.
The half-timbered building to the right of the entrance stands on the site of the old city walls . The tower , rebuilt between 1988 and 1989, is based on an old 13th-century tower with Gallo-Roman foundations, which was razed to the ground in 1868.
On the side was the house of the three stones from 1753.
The mansion was also a canon's house and welcomed a number of illustrious figures such as Louis Budé in 1501, canon of the cathedral chapter and archdeacon of Arcis-sur-Aube, and in 1517 Hennequin, bishop and chaplain to François I. In 1609, it became the home of Charles de Choiseul, Marshal of France and governor of Champagne. From 1789, it was run as an inn by the Bourliet de la Prairie family.
In the courtyard you will find a well with three pulleys, an Italian-style loggia and a dormer window , all from the 16th century.
