Mae Ngao River

The Ngao River is a tributary of the Yuam River, part of the Salween basin. The Mae Ngao River is the longest and most important river, passing through the area of the National Park for approximately 42 kilometres long. The origin is in Ban Sop Khong and the stream flows northwards to Sop Ngao and joins the Yuam River. The Mae Ngao River is part of the provincial boundary: the western part of the river is in the Tha Song Yang District of Tak Province, and the eastern part is in the Sop Moei District of Mae Hong Son Province. The river is approximately 10-12 meters wide and the water is very clear.
