Route from Nivelles along the old and new arms of the Canal du Centre with the old and new ship lifts. Almost flat.
First part of beautiful Ravel.
Then along the old canal arm, which is now a large nature reserve. Sometimes there are cobblestones or a stretch of gravel.
Later along newer canal arms, past the old ship lifts.
Along the new, impressive ship lift from Strépy upwards. This is immediately the only significant incline of the route. Over a large aqueduct and then turn right immediately and go under the aqueduct. Here we cut a corner due to the Feluy oil refinery.
Near the sloping plane of Ronquières, we return to the canal and turn right, again along the old historical canal arm. Finally again the Ravel to Nivelles.
