In about three hours, the nine and a half kilometers around Falaën can be easily managed. The descent from the "Ferme de Montaigle" to the castle of Montaigle through the valley of the stream Flavion is particularly appealing. Along the steep rock walls beside the Flavion, one can recognize numerous caves that once served as homes for Paleolithic hunters and gatherers. The castle ruins and the museum of Montaigle are absolutely worth seeing. Moreover, the castle offers a beautiful view of the primitive river and rock landscape of the surroundings. The return path leads through the old hamlet of "Le Marteau" in the Molignée Valley and across the bare plateau of "La Héronnière" back to Falaën.
