For this GPS walk, we park at the end of the street 'De Souterrain' in Moen and start with the Sluislaan, after 100 meters a small bridge over the canal where the path of Natuurpunt passes. We are adding an additional loop to the Oliebergpark, an area created by moving the route of the canal and for which a neighborhood park has been created. We cross the forest of Orveyt, here a curious story, there was a tunnel 600 meters long (called basement) here on the canal where ships sailed "underground". But in 1970 the tunnel was dug, the soil/clay was poured next to the canal and because of the vegetation, the hill became a green space with forest and swimming pools. Two old railway tracks, reserved for walkers and unpaved, make the walk all the more fun. For those who are 12 km too long, you can simply cross the bridge at the lock (exit 49) and continue the route to the idyllic protected Sint-Pietersbrug, then the additional loop to Oliebergpark is no longer available. The Natuurpunt promenade itself can be followed with walking nodes and starts at Stationsstraat 116 and follows the following numbers 22/23/49/24/25/26/27/19/20/21/22; Westtoer has resumed the promenade of Natuurpunt but in the opposite direction and can be followed with hexagonal signs (7 km).
