Duffel - Antwerp - Duffel

This ride is not my prettiest, not my best, but because of the variety, I find it worth recommending. It was incredible; one moment I was on a busy road and turned left or right (whichever) and I found myself in a completely different world where the road was very well navigable, but there was hardly any traffic. Out of the little street, and I was back on a bike street, then it went surprisingly along beautifully paved bike paths in Antwerp towards and along the Scheldekaai. There was a bit more hustle and bustle on the way, but it remained a nice bike path along the inner ring road. Again a beautiful bike path only to switch for about 1km onto cobblestones towards Deurne Airport. A second cobblestone stretch, but thankfully there was a nice navigable bike path next to it. But suddenly: "Another cobblestone stretch of about 700m for the true Flandrien." A relief for the haters of cobblestones, because at the edge of the cobblestones in Bogaertheide lies a nice and wide shoulder for one bike and this way you can avoid the pride of Flanders (cobblestones). This ride has character, ride it with a few friends and not with ten people, because that's too much to fully enjoy.
