Part 16.
From the campsite in Envy you first drive to Romainmotier. A visit to the beautiful abbey church is very worthwhile. Then follow the signposted cycling route Nr. 50 to Cuarnens. From there, you head south-east on cycling route Nr. 473 to Veuillerens. Leave the signposted route towards Aclens, and the southern towns of Romanel sur Morges and Bremblens. From there, follow the signs for the Cycling Route Nr. 5 to Lausanne-Ouchy.
From Lausanne and the port of Ouchy, you stay close to the lake as far as Lutry. Then climb to the beautiful vineyard of Lavaux, a place recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage.
Here you have a breathtaking view over the lake all the way to the Alps. Via the center of Vevey, you descend again to the lake and the town of Montreux.

General.
The Via Francigena by bike in Switzerland follows the hiking route as much as possible, but is mainly about the official cycling routes of Switzerland. After passing the French/Swiss border and the Pre-Alps, you arrive at the Swiss plateau and finally in the capital of the canton of Vaud, Lausanne.
The route then follows the shores of Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) to Montreux and then follows the Rhone towards Martigny.
The climb begins in this city.
The last stretch from Bourg Saint Bernard to the Great Saint Bernard Pass is the most difficult but also the most beautiful. After the pass you are in Italy and you descend towards Aosta and finally .... Rome.
