Choose the Asternweg hiking parking lot as the starting point, the trail leads first through the Retelnmühle area to the Scheder Wald and past the Herdecke Community Hospital. From Hickenstein, it goes quietly uphill, then on a relatively moderate ascent along the path parallel to the Kemnade until reaching the starting point at the Asternweg parking lot.
