AzureThe Ahreifel is beautiful to navigate: climbs up to 6 km in length, many with at least four hairpin bends, and good and often quiet roads. However, when the weather is good in combination with a major motorsport event at the nearby Nürburgring, it can also get quite crowded with motorcyclists on the local roads. Climbs on this tour (following the route counterclockwise):
Krälingen (5 hairpin bends),
Effelsberg (4 hairpin bends),
Sierscheid (or Dümpelhardt) ( 5 hairpin bends),
Ohlenrath,
Wershofen,
Reifferscheid (or Hürsnück) ( 7 hairpin bends),
High eight.
There is a busy main road in the Ahr valley, but it is completely bypassed by the very well paved cycle path over the former railway line that used to run through the Ahr valley.
