AzureIn memory of our Spike, a route along some of his favorite spots. Two short but tough climbs lead to a beautiful viewpoint where in the west you can see the highest point of the Algarve (Monchique), and in the east Rocha de Pena. The route has recently (Oct 2019) been completely cleaned and can therefore still have a lot of loose sand here and there. Keep that in mind after a heavy rain shower. The eleketra wire for the cows can easily be opened (do not forget to close again), there is a black or orange colored plastic handle. the Ribeira de Gaviao has to be crossed 2 times, in a period with a lot of rain this is not always possible with dry feet.
