From Porto, a short trip up the Douro (1 day). Then head south (2 days) to return to the coast. Next, follow the coast south for a few days before heading inland again to Tomar and up to Santarem. From there, follow the tourist highlights route winding its way to Lisbon (thus via Sintra and Mafra and the most western point of Portugal). Then spend half a week exploring Lisbon (beautiful city!) before we take the return flight to Amsterdam. A beautiful route with usually a bit of headwind. Be mindful of the holidays in the towns, as they often provide an extra experience.
