GR 122 Zeeland - Champagne-Ardenne | Deel Vlaanderen

NL -  Dit internationale pad start net over de grens in het Nederlandse Hulst en doorkruist vandaaruit de hele provincie Oost-Vlaanderen. Langs de polders en bloemenstreek, door de scheldevallei, en uiteindelijk de Zwalmstreek en de Vlaamse Ardennen.

Aan de taalgrens sluit de GR 122 aan op de GRP 123 Tour de la Wallonie picarde. Vanaf het Waalse Bernissart volgt de GR 122 dan gedurende 470 km opnieuw zijn eigen traject. Tussen Hulst en Kluisbergen werden ook 14 dagwandelingen in lusvorm gecreëerd. In de topogids werden 8 van de 14 wandelingen volledig uitgewerkt. 

EN - The GR 122 starts just across the Dutch border in the town of Hulst. From there, it runs through the entire province of East Flanders. At the language border, it joins the GRP 123 Tour de la Wallonie picarde until Bernissart in Wallonia, where the GR 122 splits off again and continues for 470 km.

Your hike starts in the Netherlands. After 25 km, you cross the Belgian border and you enter the Waasland region. Surrounded by rolling fields, the canal the Moervaart leads you to Lochristi. Azaleas and begonias cover the fields with colourful blankets in this flower region. From Wetteren, the river Scheldt takes you further west to Melle and Merelbeke. The hilly Land van Rode gives way to the Zwalm region, where wind and water mills bear witness to the past. In the Flemish Ardennes, you hike through several forests and reach the language border.
