On June 7, 1995, the center of what was then Europe with 15 member states was located in Viroinval, more specifically in the hamlet "du Trou du Diable," a former clay pit where a glass cathedral has been built. You have the choice between two walks to get there: a route of 15 km or a shorter version of 9 km. The route goes through the forests to a ridge overlooking the river and the towns of Fumay and Haybes. During the walk, you will see various clay pits, the remnants of an industry that thrived until the beginning of World War I. In the hamlet "Risque-Tout," you can limit the walk to 9 km by turning right to follow the proposed variant (green cross).
