Where the Zenne slowly meanders and ancient farms keep their secrets, a landscape unfolds in Eppegem that reads like a painting. It is the landscape that Pieter Paul Rubens immortalized in his masterpiece Autumn Landscape with a View of the Steen. From the stone tower that is visible in the painting, one had a wide view over the rolling green, the tree-lined rivers, and the stately buildings surrounding the castle.
